Reviving the early digital dancehall vibe and bringing it to today's dance halls is the main mission of the Fat Bird Recordings label. This vibe brings the combination of fat digital beats with conscious lyrics, following in the vein of late 80's productions like King Tubbys, King Jammys, Rockers etc.

The singer Delton Screechie started in the Roots era of the 70's. He comes from the original and authentic roots reggae music school, the school of the Jamaican sound system culture of the 70s and 80s, when the positive message was predominant and the era of the roots music.

He is a tremendously talented and versatile artist with a sweet voice and melodies, and great lyrics. The training of improvising on the sound system for decades and also from recording acetate dubplates is what make this artist to have a unique talent. Artists of the past had skills that gave them the ability to record songs in one take. When it come to Screechie he will be skipping pages and pages from these books of tunes.

Poorman comes to become a new dancehall anthem. Delton Screechie's lyrics flow over this thunderous and powerful rhythm. The 7 inch album includes the instrumental version.

The beat is heavily influenced by Jah Shakka productions from the late 1980s. It was produced, composed and recorded by George Palmer at George's Box studio with arranger Dawitt on guitars. Jimmie Dub Troubles is mixing and mastering engineer on this one. He had a long mixing process using analog machinery and running the tracks on tape.
